I just spent 3 weeks to ski off-piste in the French Alps.
Beyond the intense pleasure and beauty of the mountains during the winter, there is always the notion of risk present in the high mountains.
Our guide had an accident a few years ago that almost killed him:
rupture of the aorta, punctured lung and multiple fractures.
He should have died, suffering of lethal injuries, but he survived.
Some might think it has eased off since …
On the contrary, passed so near from the death, he became aware of the fragility of life, and its short-lived, not like a flower but almost …
This led him to live more thoroughly his passions, while being more vigilant about security.
We only live once … so it is.
If our body transforms after death, because as said Lavoisier, nothing is created nothing disappears, everything is transformed, the life of a human being is a unique and temporary parenthesis.
Whatever your age, awareness of death makes us aware that life is a gift whose time is running out …
You can choose to leave the counter flow to remain blocked by your beliefs and your fears, or you can choose to live the life of your dreams, which requires an ongoing personal development, commitment and effort … as in the mountains …
But the reward is beautiful …
Many people seem overhelmed by their problems, and their fears.
Thus they just live a life that doesn’t fullfill them but gives them a sense of security and comfort
These people usually die full of regrets, of what they could have achieved, but didn’t…
Time is running fast, and there are things that we can no longer do as we are aging.
As someone said, if young people knew, and if old people could do…
Do not let your fears control your life, but learn to master your fears to live your passions with passion!
We usually do not regret what we did, but mostly what we didn’t do
So just do it, now, before it’s too late
